Closing the capacity gap for children with disabilities and children under three.
Two groups of children remain the most underserved in India's early childhood landscape: children with disabilities, and children under three. The Divyang Protocol for Anganwadi workers (MoWCD, 2023) put children with disabilities at the centre of the ICDS scheme for the first time, but the capacity gap is large. India's Anganwadi workforce serves over 60 to 70 million children under six, and an estimated 7 to 8 percent can be expected to have a disability, with most frontline workers still undertrained to detect or respond. The 0 to 3 age group, meanwhile, is served mostly by unregulated crèches and informal care, leaving the years of fastest brain development the least protected.
EqC exists to close both gaps: professionalising the ECCE workforce and giving families, providers, and systems the tools to make inclusion and quality the norm, not the exception.

Developing and publishing accessible, evidence-based content on early childhood, disability, nurturing care, child protection, play, and related policy and practice issues.
Serving as a resource person for government, professional and institutional programmes, with a focus on early detection of developmental delays and disabilities and the use of the Disability Screening Schedule (DSS).
Providing expertise and consultation to organisations and institutions on early childhood development and disability inclusion.
Contributing expert perspectives through newspaper and media articles on early childhood development, parenting, education, disability, inclusion, child protection, and related social and policy issues, with opinion pieces in The Hindustan Times, Dainik Bhaskar, The Daily Guardian, Deccan Herald and other media platforms.
